Jan. 15th marked Foster's 6th month birthday. We took our monthly picture with Andy and Wow, what a difference. I have gone back and compared month 1-6 and it is truly amazing to see what a change has occurred in our handsome little guy. He was a cute baby from the start, but I mean really...this kid needs an agent. He can smile on command and with that dimple and those All-American chubby cheeks (the ones on each side of his "rose petal" mouth, as Susan calls it) he should be a baby model. Of course, we are partial, but he is just so cute!
He is officially sitting up unsupported and without a tripod. He is eating so much! 24-32 0z. of formula and between 12 and 16 oz of solid food. He loves the Ella's Kitchen products, and although they are expensive, they mix veggies with fruits and it is all natural organic food...most importantly he loves it!
We are still working on re-working his napping schedule. I realized I was trying to keep him up far too long in the mornings, and that was why he would not nap well the rest of the day. He has never had trouble falling alseep...that is, once I had him trained, however, staying asleep has been an issue for the past 3 months. I had him up for far too long in the mornings...sometimes up to 3.5 hours! So...I have forgone the morning spin classes and begun a different nap schedule. It has been an adjustment to be sure, but very successful. Foster is sleeping until 6:30-7:00 a.m. He eats and then we play for the next two hours. He naps from 9-11. Then we have lunch and we play for two more hours. He naps from 1-3 again, and this nap tends to be more like and hour or an hour and a half and then talks to himself in his crib (so cute!). HE eats his 3:00 snack and then plays for another two hours. He takes a cat nap from 5-6 (sometimes only sleeping 30 min), and then we have dinner as a family. We play for two more hours and he is in bed with 4 oz. of milk at 8:00 (or some nights a bit earlier). It is a great schedule. And...for anyone who questions "Babywise"...just know that Foster puts himself to sleep...every time! I lay him down wide awake and walk out! AMAZING!!!
So, the 6th month check-up went very well. He was 18.1 lbs. and 26 inches. His weight put him in the 75th percentile and his height put him in the 50th-both very good. We are excited that he is eating so well and that he is such a healthy, happy, growing baby! Already, we are such proud parents.
