And I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, cr-yyy if I want too...You would cry to if you didn't nap too!
On Saturday, July 14th, we had a party to celebrate Foster's first birthday. He turned one year old the following day, but we wanted to include as many of our family members and friends in the celebration as we possibly could, so we opted to have the party one day early. Unfortunately, that still did not help MJ and PJ. MJ was diagnosed with Shingles the day before they were supposed to leave for their trip down to Florida. Yikes! Foster could not get vaccinated until the 16th, so they had to miss out on the festivities. We were disappointed to say it lightly, but for the health of everyone they stayed in Atlanta. We took many pictures and some video and sent them the following day, so they could feel as much a part of his big day as possible!
Foster must have sensed the excitement in the air because
he did not nap well. So typical. He is usually a fabulous napper, but clearly a party brought too much anticipation to get any sleep. So, for a nonnapping day, he was pretty good. Not too much fussing. We had to rush through the gifts and dinner to get the the smash cake before all hell broke loose, but overall the party was a success. The theme sent along with his nursery theme of antique airplanes, using the colors red, black, white, and Tiffany blue! So cute. I had a lot of fun decorating and making tags and signs using Missy's Cricut machine- can;t wait o get one for myself! Watch out Etsy! I have included some pics of the decor below!
Opening presents was like being in a speed round of Double Dare...jumping over boxes, ripping paper, throwing boxes...you really have to be in shape to throw a birthday party for a baby!
The cake smashing was super fun. Foster wasn't too sure of it at first and mom and dad had to give the OK to make the mess he was allowed to make on this one special day! He just stuck his thumb on it at first and with a big grin, dove right in and splashed the icing all over the place. Good thing I had a plastic table cloth under his highchair.
Having so many of his little friends there was too cute. Many of the babies from playgroup came including Brayden, Shelby, Regan, Ethan, Madison, and Emma! They were so cute together, especially when the presents came out of the boxes! Avery and Parker were the older kids of the bunch and they mostly played the "adult" games outside. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this day so special for our family!
