To Grandmother's House We Go!

While in CT, visiting the Allens, Foster and I also spent some time with Gigi and Granddaddy, Foster's great grandparents, and the Ruiz family (my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins).  These are my Yankee relations I referred to in the last post.  Mama Jill spent the day with us as well, while we visited the Retirement Community where my grandparents live.

It was so cute seeing them together.  Although Granddaddy gets very confused and doesn't really understand exactly who I am or who Foster is, he does have lucid moments and of course he was in love with Foster.  My Gigi could not stop
commenting on how cute Foster was and how his dimples, cheeks, and smile were the most adorable she had ever seen.  Of course we all completely agree.  Granddaddy even got on the floor for a few minutes with Foster- I think he just wanted to be closer to him!

We had lunch in the dining room, which happens to be the biggest meal of the day and it was packed with other retired guests.  The moment Foster walked into the room (helped by his mom of course), the place lit up with smiles.  HE ate his lunch at the table with us, and then I walked him around the room, as he was getting a bit antsy. (It certainly does take older people a long time to eat- must be all those missing teeth-haha).  Foster flashed that smile and those dimples all around the room, which ended in several ladies holding hi, lots of head pats, and much hand holding and cheek pinching!  I have never seen so many dreary faces become so bright so quickly.  I believe that retirement communities should have to bring babies everyday or at least once a week to brighten the lives of so many.  Especially when it is Foster, whose smile could truly cure cancer!

The second day we spent there, my cousins Jessica and Michael stopped in with my Aunt Wendy.  I hadn't seen Michael since I was 14!  Boy has he grown and he is such a good looking guy!  I think Foster was absolutely the star of the show...as it should be!
