Pensacola or Bust!

Daniel and I spent the weekend of October 20th helping Cathy and Trevor celebrate there vows! Cathy, a former college roommate and ECU Pirate swimmer, has been a friend of ours for 14 years. When she got engaged to Trevor last fall, I was asked to be her Matron of Honor.  As her only attendant, I was honored to be such an important piece of her ceremony.
With mom in town to watch Little Man Foster for us, we headed out Friday morning for the extremely boring and long trip across the Panhandle of Florida.  It certainly is better when you have someone in the car to chat with.  We hadn't made the trip back since we had moved to Fernandina 2 1/2 years ago!  We ate at our favorite staple for a late lunch when we arrived...Cactus Flower!  We checked in at the Old World Inn, which was where the wedding and reception were held.  We stayed upstairs in room 10...so nice!  The rehearsal was quick and easy, followed by a casual dinner out at Pensacola Beach!.

Daniel was such a help the next day with the set up, and when we left to get our hair done, he headed to the beach for a few hours!  Men are so lucky!  Cathy, Carol (her mom), and I had a nice few hours at the salon...then off to put the finishing touches on everything.  The ceremony was gorgeous.  Outside in a little courtyard in front of a fountain.  Her colors were cream, brown, and gold.  Perfect for fall!  Cathy looked gorgeous and her dress was perfect for her vintage style!  The highlight of the reception was the 80s band that rocked out!  It was the best band I have ever experienced at a wedding, and the only downfall was that they couldn't play all night!  Cathy and Trevor made their get away in a lightly decorated wedding mobile.  Hopefully this story will end as ours has...in a Happily Ever After sort of way!  Love you Cathy and Trevor!

And thanks for the chance to get away.  We had a fabulous time!
